A slope changes more than the excavation
A sloping yard may require changes to grades, material removal or engineered retaining solutions. Its feasibility and cost depend on more than the height difference visible from a photograph.
The review should consider surrounding properties, where water currently flows and where it will flow after construction. Retaining walls and drainage work need their own scope when required.
Access belongs in the first conversation
Measure the narrowest point along the equipment route, including gates, corners and the gap between buildings. Mention overhead obstructions, steep drives, septic areas, irrigation and surfaces that must be protected.
Build a complete preparation scope
Specify clearing, excavation, disposal, base preparation and restoration responsibilities. Establish how utilities and other underground features will be identified before digging, and who is responsible for required reviews.
